Learning to Listen to the Wildwood

Although Tarot and similar divination piqued her interest, something always felt lacking. That is until she came across Osteomancy and Cleromancy.

Working with Tarot and Oracle decks was intriguing. She enjoyed learning the card meanings, admiring the art, and feeling the mystique of the spreads, but something was off. It wasn’t hers. It didn’t quite click. She needed something more personal, something that felt alive in her hands.

Always drawn to animals, to both life and death, bone divination (Osteomancy) caught her attention like a spark in dry moss. This was a practice built on deep honoring; a sacred regard for every bauble, bone chip, or tooth. Each one an offering from the forest, deserving of care. With every ritual, she found herself closer to the forest god, to Mother Earth, to her ancestors, and to herself.

She read and absorbed everything she could about this unique form of divination. Every piece in her growing set holds a special meaning, from the smallest fossilized coral coin to the full roe deer antler, and each is treated with veneration. Everything fell into place. Every adventure now holds the possibility of discovering a new piece that calls to her.

For now, she’s finalizing her set and working on readings for herself. One day, she hopes to offer them to friends. Until then, she will keep speaking with, and listening to, the Wildwood.

The forest speaks.
The faun listens.
